Hello! My name is Richard D. Driver and I'm an Associate Professor and the Coordinator of the History Department at McLennan Community College.
I hold a Ph.D. in American history and am an experienced teacher who enjoys learning with my students, in a variety of classroom environments, including online and Dual-Credit.
My scholarship focuses on the cultural and historical impact of popular music, particularly the Beatles and the post-Beatles career of Paul McCartney. I am the author of That Was Me: Paul McCartney's Career and the Legacy of the Beatles (2023) from Lexington Books, a chapter on the Beatles and cultural depictions of the Vietnam War in The Vietnam War in Popular Culture (2017, edited by Ron Milam), and the chapter “Made in Rockdown: Paul McCartney and McCartney III” in Rock Music Icons (2022, edited by Robert McParland), also from Lexington. From 2016-2019, I contributed music reviews for Pop Matters, including Paul McCartney's Egypt Station (2018).
I live in the Waco, Texas-area with my wife and daughter.
